Part of Your World

The great passenger ship Deep Blue coursed over the waves like the wind, and for the first few days of his journey, Felix simply enjoyed being away from his terrible family and on an adventure. But then he grew restless, the sparkling ocean waves losing their wonder, the sun feeling damnably hotter and hotter, the fellow passengers obnoxious.

So when the sailors cried "Storm!" and scurried about to prepare for the darkness looming on the horizon, Felix thought, At last, some excitement! And when he was tossed overboard by a panicked shove and lost to the swirling, violent currents beneath, he thought, But I'm too young to die!

No one saw him go overboard, no one noticed his golden hair and pale skin thrashing about as he tried desperately to stay afloat long enough for someone to notice. Someone always noticed him! Why didn't anyone see him?

But he was so cold, and so tired, and despite all his efforts, he succumbed. He drifted below the water, tossed about by the stormy sea, and the lightening and howling wind above grew dimmer and dimmer, and the light grew fainter and fainter, and his mind grew darker and darker...
